Building Around Riley Greene in MLB 26 With U4N Lineup Tips

A new 99 OVR card can make Diamond Dynasty players want to rebuild their entire lineup immediately. I think it is better to slow down and see what the player actually adds first. The 99 OVR Spotlight Riley Greene card has strong offensive numbers and useful outfield eligibility, so he is worth testing, but there are also collection reasons to keep him even if he does not become a starter. MLB The Show Stubs can support other roster moves, but they do not change the first thing you should do with Greene.

Greene also arrives at an interesting point in roster progression. MLB The Show Stubs may be useful when you are trying to fill other positions, but Greene is already in your hands and cannot simply be sold. That makes the decision much simpler. Instead of worrying about his market value, focus on his collection role, his swing, and whether his attributes solve a problem in your outfield.

Start With the September Lightning Collection
Before taking Greene into a game, I would open the Collections menu and check the September Lightning Collection.

Greene is one of four cards needed to complete the collection. The other three are Teoscar Hernández, Adael Amador, and Brandon Lowe. Collecting all four unlocks the 99 OVR Spotlight Lightning Carter Jensen.

This is the most important reason not to treat Greene like an ordinary lineup card. He is a non-sellable main reward from the September Spotlight Drop 4 Program, earned at 140 points, and his collection role gives him value even if you eventually replace him in Left Field.

If the other three cards are already available, completing the collection should be an easy priority.

See How He Handles Left Field
After the collection is handled, put Greene in Left Field if you need an upgrade there.

He has secondary eligibility at Center Field, which gives you some flexibility when arranging the outfield. His strongest selling point is clearly his offensive profile.

Against left-handed pitching, Greene has 125 Contact and 125 Power. Those numbers make him particularly attractive when facing a tough southpaw. Against right-handed pitching, his 117 Contact is still strong enough to make him useful in normal matchups.

That balance is important because you do not want to build your lineup around a card that only works in one narrow situation. Greene can contribute against both sides, while his lefty numbers give him an especially high ceiling in those matchups.

Learn His Swing Before Judging Him
Ratings are useful, but they are not everything in Diamond Dynasty.

Some players can have incredible attributes and still feel uncomfortable at the plate. Other cards with slightly lower ratings can become lineup staples because their swings feel natural.

I would give Greene several at-bats before making a final decision. Pay attention to how quickly you can get the PCI into position and whether you are consistently driving pitches you normally hit well.

His seven active quirks are another reason to give him a proper test. Dead Red and Breaking Ball Hitter can complement an aggressive hitting approach, especially when you recognize the situations where those quirks matter.

Consider the Defensive Tradeoff
Greene's defense is solid without being the main reason to use him. His 79 Fielding and 77 Arm Strength make him a dependable Left Fielder, while his 45 Speed is noticeably less impressive.

That does not automatically make him a defensive liability. It simply means you should compare him with the players already occupying your outfield.

If your current lineup is loaded with speed but lacks reliable hitting, Greene can bring some balance. If your team already has enough offense and you need maximum range, another outfielder may fit better.

Work Toward Parallel V
If Greene stays in your lineup, there is a straightforward reason to keep playing him: Parallel XP.

At Parallel V, his major attributes receive a +5 boost. His 117 Contact against right-handed pitching becomes 122, while his base Speed improves from 45 to 50.

I would earn this progress through normal games rather than forcing a repetitive grind. Ranked Seasons is an option, but offline modes can also let you accumulate progress while completing other Diamond Dynasty goals.

Final Lineup Decision
The best role for Greene depends on how your own roster performs rather than simply following the 99 OVR rating. MLB The Show 26 Stubs for sale can be considered as part of wider roster planning, but Greene should first be judged by his collection value and how well his swing works for you.
